Since its beginning in 2007, St. Luke University Parish has been building the people
foundations of Church and working toward construction of a church building – a
faith home and a base of mission – for our entire community of students, parishioners
and faith seekers. We have begun our capital stewardship campaign, Rooted + Growing in Christ. Phase One of the campaign will raise money to show our parish commitment to fund our new building and campus & parish ministries. In Phase Two we will ask GVSU parents and alumni to support our ministry.
The May 20 letter and fact sheet from Fr. Brad can be read here.
On June 5, information about the project and costs were shared at all the Sunday Masses. All parishioner are asked to prayerfully reflect on their God-given blessings and to pray about what a sacrificial three-year pledge to this campaign would mean to them.
On June 13, we began the Advanced Commitment phase of our campaign.
On July 10 we moved into the Commitment Phase of our campaign for all parishioners. Over $150,000 has been pledged from the Advance Commitment phase.
In August we will begin reaching out to students, parents, alumni and other Catholic friends.
As of Sept. 11, we have received 125 pleadges for $388,382.
